Story Gesture Drawings - How to Train Your Dragon

I totally forgot this has been sitting in my "Current Projects" folder for.....months? Yep. Months..... Anyways, I remembered it today as I was explaining the idea of sequential gesture drawing to my character design class. The above are a revised version of the sketches I did in a previous class, then went over in Photoshop, lay comped, and now (finally!) rendered out. I dislike my last frame - it pops and is a bit of a "jump cut"... Always something to re-board....

Birds of Prey

Okay - really just another excuse to draw Batgirl, but I had enjoyed the Gail Simone runs on "Birds of Prey". This sketch has been on the back burner for a while - and after finishing up one of my Wonder Woman sketches - I really wanted this done. Not perfect, but at this point I just have to move on. Maybe I'll try these ladies another time.

Morning Demo Sketch Finished

Here is one of my sketches from the Intro Photoshop class I teach. Usually I get there  a bit early, and have about 5 to 10 minutes to kill before the students get in. I just start doodling in Photoshop - and I usually end up drawing some sort of pin-up girl. This one was started back in the Spring semester - I have a whole file of these girls - and I've been slowly adding color to them.

More to come!...

"Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" - Part1

This my first past at last week's assignment - several pages from the Kenneth Branagh "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein".

I didn't get though the whole thing - but we have two more weeks to go on this piece. Right now my lead in is mostly objective shots. As the script builds my plan was to then move to more subjective shots. So much more to do....
